Every round of Baccarat has two sides: Player and Banker. Players do not hold the cards themselves — you simply bet in advance on which side you think will win.
How card points are counted
Ace = 1 point, 2–9 = face value, 10 / J / Q / K = 0 points. If the total of two cards exceeds 9, the tens digit is dropped — for example 7+8=15 counts as 5 points. The side closest to 9 wins.
Third-card drawing rules (Natural)
If either the Player's or the Banker's first two cards total 8 or 9, it is a "Natural" and no more cards are drawn — the round ends. If the Player's total is 0–5, a third card is drawn. Whether the Banker draws a third card follows separate rules based on the Player's third card. Dealers know these rules well, so players do not need to worry about them.
